Park Programs and Events
The Crispus Attucks Development Corporation strives to hold at least one community event in the
park each season, or four per year:
Spring: Bloomingdale's Biggest Yard Sale
Summer: Open Air Movie Nights ?!
Fall:   Community BBQ
Winter:   Holiday Lighting
In Summer of 2008 volunteers with CADC began working with neighborhood youth, providing
stipends for working on park improvement projects.  The program, which we call
Green4Green,
is informal at the moment, with stipend money coming from individual neighbors' donations.
However, we are working with Councilman Harry Thomas Jr's office on becoming a part of the
District's Youth Employment P
rogram, possibly in spring of 2009.

Community events and programs require work and planning
.  (For example, we didn't have
enough volunteers to organize a fall barbecue this year). If you are interested in helping with
programs or any of the above events, or have your own ideas for a community event in the park, please
contact us.

Ultimately, we hope to see regular programs for children in the park -- such as horticultural
education programs and summer day camp -- as we develop our partnerships with local
churches, universities, and other organizations.
