Park Improvement Plan
Crispus Attucks Park is NOT a city-owned park, and therefore RECEIVES NO SUPPORT FROM THE DC DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION. The park instead relies on generous donations from neighbors and the hard work of volunteers.  It is these volunteers who have determined the park's shape and character over the years.

Looking forward, we are excited to now have a rich set of planning documents to use as we develop the park further. Take a look at the planning materials below and tell us what you think, and how you would like to get involved!
Guiding Design Principles -- In spring 2005, the community adopted this set of design principles that will guide the ongoing development of the park as resources allow.
Park Conceptual Master Plan -- Developed through a community process with a professional landscape architect and adopted in December 2005, this Conceptual Design is meant to guide the future development of Crispus Attucks Park. It is conceptual only. There is much room for modification and enhancement based on the community's needs and the energies and interests of neighbors like you. This master plan concept was chosen for the way it unified the park into a coherent whole, maximized greenspace, and used natural, flowing forms.
Park Improvement Schedule -- We have prioritized our list of park improvements based on a variety of considerations, including: how easy they are to accomplish; the level of perceived interest or need; and availability of funds earmarked to specific projects. Whether we achieve these goals, or surpass or fall short of them, is dependent mainly on the number of volunteers we have and our ability to raise money.
Site Analysis -- Landscape Architecture firm SITE LLC combined their own research with input from the community to produce this thoughtful and thorough analysis of the existing site and its possibilities. The site analysis was a critically important input into the development of the Conceptual Master Plan.
